About the Aquatics & Fitness Center

Our Aquatic and Fitness Center is a beautiful, 27,000 square foot facility featuring two indoor pools, a fitness center and strength training room. Those rehabilitating after an injury or those looking to build strength and improve overall health and wellness are able to use the fully accessible facility. Membership is open to the community.


Our 20-yard fitness pool features a family-friendly recreational swim area, three-lap lanes and is heated to 84-degrees.

Our warm-water pool is a special purpose pool designed to help reduce pain during and after aquatic therapy and is open to members with special health needs. It offers zero-depth entry and is heated to 92 degrees.

The fitness center features cardiovascular and strength-training equipment designed to improve aerobic endurance, muscular strength, and flexibility. Much of our equipment is specifically designed for ease of use by individuals living with disabilities.

  • The WAVE Swim Team is open to any swimmer living with a physical disability who wishes to compete

The pools are closed during thunder and lightning storms; however, the Fitness Center does remain open. The Aquatic and Fitness Center may open late or close early due to inclement weather.

What You Need to Know Prior to Joining

Safety Protocols in Place

For your health and safety, we are committed to following the mandatory guidelines and best practices outlined in the State of Connecticut re-opening plan. We have taken a number of steps to protect the health and well-being of our members, patients and staff, which include implementing enhanced cleanliness and sanitation policies and procedures, physical distancing measures, capacity restrictions, and mask requirements. In addition:

  • Members will have their temperature taken and participate in a brief health screening upon arrival. If you have a temperature of 100.4 F or greater, you will be asked not to return to the Center until you have been fever and/or symptom-free for 48 hours.
  • Members should not visit the Center if they have any symptoms related to or have knowingly been exposed to COVID-19.
  • Members are required to wear a face mask at all times within the Center with the exception of when swimming and showering.
  • Members must follow all posted requirements regarding physical distancing, traffic flow, restricted areas, and room capacities.
  • Hand sanitizing stations and disinfectant wipes will be provided throughout the facility. Members will be required to disinfect equipment before and after use.
  • All members must leave at the end of their reservation.
  • Guests will not be permitted at this time.
Reservations Required

The Aquatic and Fitness Center has implemented a new registration system to manage capacity and maintain social distancing guidelines. All members will be required to reserve a workout time in the fitness center, fitness pool, or therapy pool in advance through the Member Portal. You can reserve a 1-hour time slot in 1 area per day, 1 week in advance.

Please be courteous and un-register if you are unable to attend so that other members may have the opportunity to sign-up.

Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your reserved time.

We will not be accepting walk-in visits so please do not visit the Center unless you have a reservation.

Locker Room Amenities

Showers are available with the understanding that they will be used for the purpose of a quick rinse or wash. Capacity restrictions are still in place in the locker rooms so members must limit their shower time to ensure enough time to change and exit the building before the next reservation group arrives.

The following amenities remain unavailable and marked out of service: Towel service, hairdryers, water fountains, and swimsuit spinners.

Availability of lockers will be limited in order to ensure social distancing. Lockers that are not allowed to be in use will be closed off and marked out of service. Members are asked to wipe down their locker and changing stall, promptly change and exit the Center at the end of their reservation.

What can I expect when I visit the Fitness Center?

Capacity of the fitness center is limited to 6 patrons maintaining 6ft social distancing from each other. Due to social distancing requirements, some equipment has been marked out of service. Members must wipe down their equipment with the wipes provided before and after use.

What can I expect when I visit the pool?

Capacity in the therapy pool is limited to 10 patrons maintaining 6ft social distancing from each other.

Capacity in the fitness pool is limited to 6 patrons unless the second person is from the same residence. There is a maximum of two people from the same residence allowed per lane. Only one member per household will need to make a reservation.

Pool space will be reserved in advance for scheduled aquatic fitness classes. Participants must maintain 12ft of social distancing throughout the class.


Membership to the Aquatic and Fitness Center is open to residents of all communities by monthly electronic funds transfer (EFT) from your checking or savings account or credit or debit card. Monthly dues will be charged to your account on the 1st of the month.
