Joy of Art!

The Joy of Art! Program

Art is an important factor in rebuilding lives. It creates an inviting and calming environment that is therapeutic for patients, staff and visitors. Patients get the opportunity to express their emotions through creativity, stimulate their mind and feel joy during their hospital stay. The Joy of Art! program hosts exhibitions throughout the year and supports art groups and activities that helps patients feel engaged with the community. Art is integrated into patient care, providing holistic patient-centered healing.

Programs

Exhibits

We host in-house juried and non-juried art exhibitions throughout the year, featuring artwork from community artists, employees, and patients. Check our event calendar for upcoming exhibits.

Art Activities

We support art groups for patients run by volunteers and recreation therapists. We host workshops, performances, cultural events and more.

Art Inventory

Our art collection is comprised of an array of donated artwork that is displayed in care areas, offices and hallways.

Give the Gift of Art

There are many ways you can help ensure patients continue to receive the benefits of art:

  • Purchase a piece of artwork from one of our many exhibits
  • Become a planning committee or art group volunteer
  • Donate funds to the program
  • Artists may respond to calls for art by submitting to juried or non-juried exhibits

Get Involved

We are looking for new Joy of Art! Committee volunteers, as well as artists or art groups who’d be interested in exhibiting their artwork. To find out more information, please contact Olivia Reed at [email protected].
