Aquatic Therapy Program
Aquatic therapy is a specialized form of physical and/or occupational therapy. For some, this pool based therapy makes exercising easier than on land while for others a combination of pool and land is best. Our specially trained therapists treat on an inpatient and outpatient basis for those with neurological diagnoses, such as brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, neuromuscular diseases, as well as amputation, orthopedic conditions, including joint pain and post-surgical debility or general debility.
How We Treat
Our Aquatic Rehabilitation Center features two accessible pools, a therapy pool at 92o F and fitness and recreation pool at 84o F to meet all of your needs. Aquatic therapy is beneficial in reducing pain, relaxing muscles, and increasing circulation. It provides a safe environment to progress exercises, and improve balance and walking. An individualized exercise plan is developed in collaboration with you and our staff and you will be taught to continue the skills learned on your own.
- Warm Water Pool for therapy
- Cool Water Pool for fitness
- Aquatic and Fitness Center offers membership to continue learned skills
- Men’s and women’s locker rooms, and a family locker room should a person require assistance from a companion
- Lifeguards always on duty
Once a prescription from a physician is received, a thorough evaluation is completed on land and appropriateness for aquatic therapy is assessed. We work in partnership with you and your doctor to coordinate your care to achieve the highest results.
