Ivan Lendl Golf and Adaptive Sports Camp Anniversaries
This year we hosted the 30th Anniversary Ivan Lendl Golf Classic, benefiting the 35th Anniversary of the Ivan Lendl Adaptive Sports Camp. The tournament was a huge success, raising over $110,000 to fund our annual adaptive sports camp, which was held at University of Saint Joseph July 28 through August 1. This year we celebrated 35 years of adaptive sports and the founder, Janeace Slifka’s legacy. When Janeace and her son, Jonathan, who was born with Spina Bifida, realized there were no opportunities for children living with a wheelchair to experience a summer camp, they were determined to change that. In 1996, HFSC proudly continued Janeace’s mission for an inclusive camp and created an annual adaptive sports program that continues to prosper each year, now welcoming participants living with autism spectrum disorder.
Manes & Motions Therapeutic Riding Center Horse Show Days
Participants at Manes & Motions Therapeutic Riding Center hosts Horse Show Days each year, giving participants the opportunity to showcase the progress and new skills developed throughout the semester. With friends, family and community members cheering them on, each individual receives a ribbon upon completing their session, celebrating their hard work, courage and connection. Your donations continue to expand Manes & Motions’ equine-assistive offerings, rebuilding lives through the horse and human bond.
Children’s Charities Tennis Classic
Children’s Charities Tennis Classic (CCTC) annual tournament proudly raised $9,200 this year for the renovation of our pediatric unit’s indoor play yard. CCTC’s generosity each year ensures that the pediatric patients and families who turn to us for the highest quality complex pediatric medical care have a place that provides a nurturing environment full of resounding hope and where their futures will grow.
Manes & Motions Therapeutic Riding Center Night at the Derby
We came together in our Derby-finest at the Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill Estate to celebrate Manes & Motions Therapeutic Riding Center at a Night at the Derby fundraiser in September. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, and with the support of Emcee extraordinaire Taylor Regan from NBC Connecticut, we raised a remarkable $73,000! These funds will elevate our therapeutic equine offerings, allowing Manes & Motions to continue to be a place where hope begins, and futures grow.
