Webster Bank Champions Hospital for Special Care’s Night at the Derby Fundraiser

NEW BRITAIN, CT – Webster Bank will champion Hospital for Special Care’s Night at the Derby fundraiser as the $10,000 Kentucky Derby sponsor. This signature annual fundraiser benefits the hospital’s Manes & Motions Therapeutic Riding Center and will take place Thursday, September 28, 2023 at the Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill Estate in Middletown. Manes & Motions provides therapeutic horseback riding and equine-assisted education activities for individuals living with disabilities.
“Webster Bank has been a sustaining force of support for Manes & Motions, contributing more than $90,000.00 to support our mission through the years” said Lynn Ricci, FACHE, president and chief executive officer. “We honored Webster Bank at our annual meeting and donor reception in June as a Servant Leader. Our Servant Leader Award recognizes members of our community who shape our continuum of care through their dedication. Webster Bank understands the role that community services like Manes & Motions play in ensuring access to health activities for individuals with disabilities.”
Taylor Kinzler, host of NBC Connecticut’s morning lifestyle show, CT Live! joins Night at the Derby as this year’s celebrity emcee. At this year’s event attendees will sip, savor and experience the grandeur of the Wadsworth Mansion while enjoying light Derby fare, participate in a virtual auction and hear uplifting stories of the horse and human connection. Lockton Companies, University of Saint Joseph, Eversource Energy, Go and many other sponsors have also signed on to support the event and the year-round program.
