February 25, 2022NEW BRITAIN, CT – The 27th annual Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) Ivan Lendl Golf Classic will take place May 9, 2022 at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell. Platinum sponsors Kaestle Boos Associates, Inc., and Webster Bank have returned this year to ensure the event will raise the funds needed to support HFSC’s Adaptive Sports Program. Master of ceremonies, NBC Connecticut’s Bob Maxon, will also return this year.
The HFSC Ivan Lendl Golf Classic helps individuals living with disabilities pursue their dreams through competitive and recreational sports. The HFSC Ivan Lendl Sports Camp provides in-person and virtual opportunities for our young athletes to connect with each other through training, play and competition. Sponsors allow HFSC to provide the adaptive sports program and camp to participants at no cost.
Jonathan Slifka, from West Hartford, Executive Assistant to the Commissioner of the Connecticut State Department of Aging and Disability Services, has returned as the event’s honorary chair. “This annual event helps keep HFSC’s Adaptive Sports Program and Ivan Lendl Adaptive Sports Camp strong,” says Slifka, whose family founded the adaptive sports camp back in 1991, “My family and I extend a heartfelt thanks to the sponsors, players and volunteers who believe in Adaptive Sports and their power to build self-confidence, develop relationships and teach athletic and life skills.”
