Magdalen Mauriello, M.D. Joins Pulmonary Staff at Hospital for Special Care

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (January 12, 2018) – Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) is pleased to welcome accomplished pulmonologist Magdalen Mauriello, M.D. to our Pulmonary Care’s multidisciplinary team. Dr. Mauriello provides care in the HFSC continuum of inpatient and outpatient pulmonary care programs and specialized respiratory services and supports patients requiring complex care, ventilator rehabilitation and weaning or other assistive technology.

“Dr. Mauriello’s experience and clinical skills are a great asset to our patients and programs,” said Lynn Ricci, FACHE, President and CEO. “She provides clinical care in our Close Observation, Respiratory Care and Respiratory Step Down Units working with patients with complex respiratory conditions who may be ventilator dependent or require ventilator weaning support.  She is also integrally involved in our outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation services and the Gawlicki Family COPD Disease Management Program.”

Magdalen Mauriello completed her medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed a fellowship in Critical Care at the Yale University School of Medicine, a Pulmonary fellowship at Norwalk Hospital, Yale University School of Medicine and an Internal Medicine residency at St. Michael’s Medical Center. She is board certified in sleep medicine, critical care medicine, pulmonary medicine, and internal medicine.
