Hospital for Special Care Welcomes Sarah Hardy, PhD, to Autism Team
August 15, 2022Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) has welcomed Sarah Hardy, PhD as a psychologist with the hospital’s autism center team. The autism center provides a variety of diagnostic, assessment and therapy services for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
The HFSC Autism Center is recognized by the National Committee of Quality Assurance as the country’s first and only Patient-Centered Specialty Practice for Autism. The organization was also cited in a 2021 study conducted by Stanford University’s Center for Clinical Excellence as among the top four autism programs in the country. Dr. Hardy will provide a variety of diagnostic, assessment and therapy services for children and adolescents impacted by ASD and their family.
“We are excited to have Dr. Hardy join the team as we continue to expand our continuum of autism services at the Hospital for Special Care” said Hassan M. Minhas, MD, chief of autism services. Lauren Herlihy PhD, director of autism psychology explained that “Dr. Hardy will work with a child and their family to develop and implement treatment plans for a variety of challenges impacting youth with Autism, as well as providing psychological evaluations for Autism diagnosis”
Sarah Hardy completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Connecticut, her Master of Arts, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology at the at the University of Rhode Island. She also completed an interdisciplinary neuroscience program graduate certificate at the University of Rhode Island. She completed a pre-doctoral clinical training at the May Institute and post-doctoral clinical training in a private practice in Rhode Island. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Connecticut.
