Hospital for Special Care Welcomes Nathan Nartey, MD, to Medical Rehabilitation Team
February 11, 2022NEW BRITAIN, CT – Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) has welcomed Nathan Nartey, MD as an attending physician with the hospital’s medical rehabilitation team. The medical rehabilitation program provides intensive multidisciplinary care for patients with complex medical needs following trauma, stroke and other brain injuries, spinal cord injury and other complex conditions.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Nartey back with us,” said William J. Pesce, DO, senior vice president and chief medical officer. “He works collaboratively with the entire team to develop an individualized care plan of care to help each patient reach their goals. He has extensive clinical experience with the patients we serve and he shares our dedication to patient safety, excellent outcomes and continuous innovation.”
Dr. Nartey, who initially joined HFSC in 2016, was recognized by the Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 program in 2018 for his dedication to his community and his commitment to leading the next generation of healthcare providers. Dr. Nartey has held roles with other organizations in recent years, maintaining his relationship with HFSC as a house officer. “I find it very rewarding to be back at HFSC full-time,” said Dr. Nartey. “My patients inspire me every day and my teammates are among the best and brightest anywhere in health care today.”
Nathan Nartey completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Virginia Union University and his Doctor of Medicine at Ross University School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine and was a Chief Medical Resident at St Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.
