Hospital for Special Care Welcomes Kelly Mazza, MA, SHRM, Human Resource Leader

NEW BRITAIN, CT – Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) has welcomed Kelly Mazza, MA, SHRM to the organization’s leadership team as Vice President of Human Resources.  Mazza will provide executive leadership of talent development, recruitment and retention, employee engagement, benefits and other initiatives to support a dynamic health care workforce including more than 1,200 full-time, part-time and per diem staff.

“Kelly brings an exceptional skill set to our team,” said Lynn Ricci, FACHE, president and chief executive officer. “Our workforce is our most valuable resource.  Kelly brings a demonstrated track record of successful human resources leadership applied in the post-acute care setting.” Mazza brings more than 25 years’ experience to HFSC and most recently served as Corporate Director of Human Resources at Athena Health Care Systems.

“I am joining a well-established and high-performing department comprised of talented and motivated employees,” said Mazza.  “My primary goal is to build upon this strong foundation, enhance the employee experience, retain teammates and attract new talent. Kelly Mazza, MA, SHRM earned a master’s degree at Sacred Heart University and a bachelor’s degree from Barry University in Florida.  She has achieved certification by the Society for Human Resource Management and is a certified dementia practitioner.  Mazza is also a veteran of the Army National Guard and currently serves on the Veterans Commission in Wolcott where she resides.
