Hospital for Special Care Welcomes Abir Rahman, DO, FABPMR, to Neuromuscular Team
September 6, 2022Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) has welcomed Abir Rahman, DO, FABPMR as a physiatrist in the hospital’s Charles H. Kaman Foundation Neuromuscular Center. The center provides a variety of diagnostic, treatment and therapy services for all levels of neuromuscular diseases, neuropathy and movement disorders.
The Charles H. Kaman Foundation Neuromuscular Center is the most comprehensive neuromuscular care center in the state. It is designated as a Center of Excellence from the ALS Certified Treatment, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association and Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation, an is AANEM Accredited Laboratory Exemplary Status. The center has also been designated by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient-Centered Specialty Practice for Parkinson’s Disease. Dr. Rahman will provide a variety of diagnostic, assessment and care services for individuals and their families.

Abir Rahman completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology, his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University. He completed his residency in physical medicine at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan and his fellowship in neuromuscular medicine at the University of Rochester, Department of Neurology. He is a Board-Certified Diplomate in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Board Eligible in Neuromuscular Medicine and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
