Hospital for Special Care Offers Free Powerful Tools for Caregivers Virtual Class

New Britain, CT – Hospital for Special Care will offer a Powerful Tools for Caregivers class for individuals caring for loved one(s) with cognitive impairment or dementia.

Hospital for Special Care’s Center for Cognitive Health will host the Powerful Tools for Caregivers: Dementia six-week course. Classes will take place Monday’s from April 18 – May 23 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm. The class led by certified course leaders, requires advance registration.  Participation for the virtual sessions to be offered via Zoom Web Meeting is at no cost to participants.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes help caregivers take better care of themselves while caring for a friend or relative with mild cognitive impairment and dementia. “By taking care of your own health and well-being, you become a better caregiver,” says Allison Gallaher, MS, CCC-SLP, R-Ray, speech therapist at Hospital for Special Care, “This class will provide individuals caring for loved ones the tools they need to become better caregivers.”
