“Our board of directors and his peers recognize Dr. Pesce as a highly skilled physician leader,” said Lynn Ricci, FACHE, President and Chief Executive Officer.  “His extensive experience with complex rehabilitation and his extraordinary dedication to our patients have been even more valuable to our care delivery system throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.”

HFSC has operated at surge capacity throughout the pandemic, providing critically needed care for patients with complex medical needs, including patients recovering from COVID-19.  “Bill has been a key leader in designing and supporting the rehabilitation protocol for patients on our dedicated COVID-19 recovery unit,” said Ricci.  “His calm, confident approach has provided reassurance to patients and staff alike during these challenging times.”

“Hospital for Special Care has an outstanding team of physicians, psychologists, nurses, respiratory, physical, occupational and speech therapists, social workers, recreation specialists and so many others working collaboratively to advance patient health and well-being,” said Dr. Pesce.  “It’s an honor to be able to support my colleagues and the organization, and to work with Lynn and the entire leadership team to keep HFSC in the spotlight as a national leader in neuromuscular care, pulmonary rehabilitation autism and so many other areas.”
