Dr. Hassan Minhas to Return as Chief of Autism Services

April 28, 2026

Hospital for Special Care (HFSC) today announced that Dr. Hassan Minhas will return as Chief of Autism Services Hospital for Special Care, effective May 4. Dr. Minhas will be actively involved with HFSC’s partial hospital program (PHP) and will see patients on an outpatient basis.

Dr. Minhas’ association with Hospital for Special Care is vital to patients and families, as well as the continued growth of the Autism Center. He played an important role in building Hospital for Special Care’s comprehensive continuum of care for autism since originally joining the organization in 2016. The hospital’s Partial Hospital Program opened in 2021 to provide a step-up or step-down level of care bridging a gap between levels of care, and the hospital’s inpatient unit expanded in 2022 to meet the critical need for higher-level care in the community. Outpatient resources including psychiatry, psychology, family therapy, speech, and occupational and physical therapy services, have also grown to help families achieve success in the community.

Hospital for Special Care’s autism services have achieved national recognition, including designation by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as the nation’s only Patient-Centered Specialty Practice for Autism.  The organization was also cited in a 2021 study conducted by Stanford University’s Center for Clinical Excellence as among the top four autism programs in the country.
