New Britain Rock Cats honors HSC as proud partner within the community
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (Jan. 25, 2012) – Hospital for Special Care (HSC) is proud to announce that the Rock Cats Foundation has named HSC the 2012 “Triple Crown Award” recipient during the Rock Cats’ 11th annual Hot Stove Luncheon at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cromwell, Conn.
“We are honored to receive this award from such a community leader like the New Britain Rock Cats, and we want to thank the Rock Cats Foundation for this recognition,” said David Crandall, president and CEO, HSC. “The New Britain Rock Cats have been a cornerstone in the Greater New Britain region, and the team’s owners’ commitment to this community is a standard all others should follow. Hospital for Special Care has always been a proud partner to the Rock Cats. HSC sees its community involvement always growing and always getting better. The criteria for the Triple Crown Award winner are as follows:
- A demonstrated personal dedication to a worthy cause;
- A clean and enduring commitment to advancing the related mission, and;
- A manifestation of personal leadership in getting others to join in working toward positive outcomes.

The Rock Cats’ “Hot Stove Luncheon” was held on January 19, 2012 and is a popular mid-Winter event sponsored by Rock Cats Foundation¬, the Eastern League club’s charitable arm.
The New Britain Rock Cats are the Double-A, Eastern League affiliate of the American League’s Minnesota Twins.
