Amanda is a chestnut Quarter Horse mare, born in 1984. She belonged to the founder of our program and has been working as a therapy horse since Manes & Motions began in 1999. Her smooth and steady gaits are a true asset for riders working towards independence.

 

Cisco

Cisco

Cisco is a 15.3 hand Quarter Horse gelding born in 1997. He was living in a pasture with cows prior to coming to Manes & Motions in 2001. Cisco took a liking to his job as a therapy horse and is a favorite among many riders and volunteers. He was Manes & Motions Horse of the Year in 2009.

 

Impressheiress

Hershey Kisses

Impressheiress, better known as Hershey Kisses is a bay Quarter Horse mare born in 1995. She was purchased with a grant received in 2007. Hershey has a stocky, muscular build and very smooth gait. She rides English and western and loves going for trail rides. She was Manes & Motions Horse of the Year in 2008.

 

Impressive Thing

Peaches

Impressive Thing, better known as Peaches, is a bright copper color chestnut mare. She is a Quarter Horse and was born in 1996, making her one of the youngest horses in our program. She has a playful personality and likes to work. She is happy to show off her western pleasure training when asked.

 

Oreo Cookie

Oreo Cookie

Oreo Cookie is a Draft Horse Cross born in 1991. We refer to her as a "horse of a different color". She is mostly black during the winter months and then becomes mostly grey with black spots when her winter coat sheds out in the spring. She has a nice forward walk, which provides three dimensional movement for her riders..

 

Rosie

Rosie

Rosie is an aged, 13.2 hand, Red Roan Pony. She is the smallest member of our herd and the perfect mount for many of our small riders. She was a lesson pony before coming to Manes & Motions in 2006, and she has taught many beginner riders. Her pace is slow and steady in the arena but she loves to kick up her heels out in the pasture when she's done working.

 

Tytan

Rosie

Tytan's Premiere Son, "Tytan" for short, is the newest member of our herd. He was purchased in 2010 with a grant from the Greater Hartford Jaycees. He is a 14.3 hand, black, Quarter Horse gelding born in 2000. His quiet temperament and love for attention make him a great addition to our program.
