Hospital for Special Care is proud to announce its annual nursing scholarship program to students who are enrolled in, or accepted into, an accredited nursing program. Full and part-time students pursuing a first-time Registered Nursing (RN) degree are eligible. Applicants must reside in the Greater New Britain area: New Britain, Berlin, Farmington, Plainville, Newington or Southington. One candidate will be selected from each of the following categories:
- High school senior or community student
- Family member* of a benefits-eligible employee of Hospital for Special Care (HSC)
- Volunteer or a family member* of the volunteer
Center of Special Care, Inc. established this scholarship with the assistance of a Nursing Recruitment and Retention Task Force. Through the Hospital for Special Care Foundation, Inc., this scholarship is funded by donor contributions made by Center of Special Care, Inc. employees, and in part, by very generous contributions donated by Mr. Allen Botwinick, in memory of his wife Rona Botwinick; and Michael Timura, in honor and celebration of his wife, Florence Timura.
* Family member is defined as spouse, child or grandchild.
