Penny Shimchick, Registered Respiratory Therapist
Penny Shimchick, RRT, is recognized by her peers for always being an outstanding patient advocate and caregiver but most notably during a recent patient transfer to a Massachusetts hospital in a blizzard. She volunteered to accompany the patient on this journey and provided manual ventilation for the entire three hour drive! As a result she is being hailed as “HSC’s own hero”. Penny makes HSC a better place to work by exemplifying HSC’s values of Caring, Integrity, and Pursuit of Excellence.
