Manager of Patient Accounts and Reimbursement
(Full-time, Days, Financial Services)
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Health Administration; minimum 3 years of supervisory or consulting experience in a hospital environment; extensive knowledge of third party (Medicare, Medicaid, and other agencies) reimbursement rules and regulations; ability to develop financial and statistical models for third party cost reimbursements and enhancements; ability to develop third party cost reports for a health care facility in accordance with generally accepted standards as set by third party payors; extensive knowledge of Cost Accounting Systems and the ability to oversee charges and analyze costs; ability to train, supervise and coordinate the activities of subordinates engaged in reimbursement functions; knowledge of and experience with automated medical billing and collection systems; excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Manager of Patient Accounts and Reimbursement will analyze and advise facility management via analyses and follow up on proposed or new changes in legislation that would affect the funding of the hospital. Through advance knowledge and experience in hospital reimbursement, this individual is responsible for developing corporate financial and statistical models for reimbursement enhancement, as well as for ensuring compliance with all Medicare and other agency reporting and requirements. Advanced theories, concepts, and practices are used to resolve complex reimbursement issues. This position coordinates, oversees and supervises the functions of Patient Billing, Collections, Patient Trust Fund and Accounts Receivable. Interprets policies and recommends policy changes to the CFO. Responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of Patient Information A/D/T, Insurance Verification, Billing, and Accounts Receivable Software. Coordinates and oversees the Cost Accounting System to ensure all areas of the Hospital are better able to understand and monitor costs as well as analyze patient actively throughout the Hospital.
