Associate Teacher
(Full-time, Days, Child Care)
Required: Child Development Associate (CDA) with a minimum of twelve credits in Early Childhood Education or the ability to provide ongoing evidence of enrollment in a program to obtain a CDA or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent; strong interpersonal skills; one to two years working in a licensed child care program; basic computer and keyboarding skills. The Associate Teacher provides coverage to maintain ratios on an as needed basis. Provides supervision of children both indoors and out, planning and implementation of the Creative Curriculum and developmentally appropriate activities for children, actively assist the Teacher in maintaining NAEYC accreditation and documentation, complete and conduct assessments of children, actively support program activities, policies, procedures and practices in accordance with the program philosophy, Department of Public Health Child Day Care Licensing Unit, State Department of Education and NAEYC.
Building Services Aide
(Per-diem, Days and Evenings, weekends required)
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; ability to work independently and organize tasks and projects. Previous housekeeping experience preferred. Responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of the hospital and associated buildings using the established equipment and procedures and to assure that patient, public and staff needs regarding housekeeping, waste management and physical appearance are maintained in the highest standards.
Camp Counselor - Ivan Lendl Adaptive Sports Camp
(Full-time Temporary August 5th - 9th, 8a - 4:30p)
Required: Person living with a physical disability; experience in minimum of one adaptive sport(s); demonstrate skill with adaptive equipment for a minimum of one adaptive sport; able to work independently; demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. Previous experience at HSC Ivan Lendl Camp is preferred. Provide supervision and direction to youth campers living with disabilities, ages 6-19 years old at HSC Ivan Lendl Adaptive Sports Camp. Provide instruction in adaptive sport(s) to youth campers, as directed by Head Coaches or Program staff. Keep attendance for assigned group of campers. Provide support as needed to campers so that they may engage in adaptive sports as independently as possible. Participate in daily staff meetings and provide written reports a directed.
Driver
(Part-time, 16 hours, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, occasional WE upon request)
Required: High school diploma; valid Connecticut driver's license Class B (CDL) with passenger endorsement; CPR certified. Previous experience operating wheelchair accessible vehicles in a healthcare setting. This position provides transportation for recreational trips or camps and timely courier services as required.
Education Coordinator – Child Care Center
(Full-time; days M-F)
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent; minimum 3 years of experience in working in a NAEYC accredited early childhood program; minimum of 1 year proven ability in a leadership role; strong knowledge of and experience implementing the Creative Curriculum and NAEYC standards and criteria; strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills; basic computer and keyboarding skills. Preferred: Master’s degree Early Childhood Education or equivalent with 1-2 years of supervisory experience. The Education Coordinator will apply their expertise and knowledge of child development and child care and will oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of a developmentally appropriate program for the children in the child care center and youth camp programs in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and practices of CSC Child Care Center and Youth Camp programs, NAEYC and DPH Child Day Care Licensing Unit and will conduct a wide variety of related administrative functions. The Education Coordinator will assume a charge role in the absence of the Director.
HIM Coordinator
(Full-time, Days, Health Information Management)
Required: Associate Degree or will consider comparable work experience; medical terminology, Transcription & Release of Information experience; knowledge of data analysis techniques, data aggregation, and data display; knowledge of and/or ability to learn legal aspects of medical records, HIPPA release guidelines and general HIPPA privacy requirements; excellent oral and written communication skills; organizationally skills with attention to detail; ability to work independently; typing, computer and telephone skills. HIM Coordinator will coordinate health records processing functions. Maintains and monitors discharged inpatient health records including assembly and analysis; coordinates and completes daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow within the department. Maintains employee health records and the filling of loose outpatient reports and active patient files. Coordinates transcription functions with contracted company and works closely with medical staff for timely report corrections. Ensures specific processes are complete within the department such as filing, purging and organization of area. Assists with the coordination of HIM students, volunteers and temporary staff. Responsible for collecting, maintaining and reporting various performance improvement indicators for the HIM Department and clinical areas. Ensures confidentiality of patient information.
Lifeguard/Water Safety Instructor
(Per Diem - Monday - Friday - 6:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday - 6:00am to 12noon)
Required: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor certification, First Aid and CPR/AED certification and six months experience as a lifeguard and water safety instructor. In this position you will be responsible for: supervising recreational swimmers and patients through proper scanning and consistent rule enforcement; preventing accidents and injuries; and providing emergency and lifesaving interventions; designing and teaching swimming lessons in a private and group type setting according to Water Safety certification standards; delivering safe and effective instruction to class participants with varying swimming skills and abilities.
Manes & Motions Barn Assistant
(Per diem Tuesday – Thursday pm feeds, occasional W/E)
Required: Ability to take a horse’s vital signs and identify health concerns, illnesses and unsoundness. One year experience in the field of equine care, high school diploma and at least two years horse ownership experience is preferred. Responsible for the daily care of Manes & Motions horses to include: daily feedings of grain, hay, and water and administering of supplements/meds. Responsible for turning horses out and bringing them in, in accordance with program schedules, farrier/vet/dentist schedules and weather conditions. Must be aware of daily weather forecasts and add or remove blankets/sheets accordingly. Also responsible for daily manure removal from stalls, pastures, riding arena and riding trail. Maintains the barn in a clean, uncluttered and safe manner. Ensures electric fencing is working properly and performs repairs when needed. Performs daily to weekly cleaning of feed and water buckets and outside water tanks. Monitors overall weight, health and soundness of horses and communicates any concerns or problems to the Facility Coordinator or designee.
PATH Certified Riding Instructor
(Per diem Monday-Saturday, Manes & Motions)
Required: Adult and Child CPR and First Aid Certification, High School Diploma. Must possess horse-handling and riding experience along with excellent communication skills. Preferred: One year teaching experience. PATH Premier Accredited Center, Manes & Motions Therapeutic Riding Center, in Middletown CT, is seeking a per diem PATH Certified Riding Instructor to join our team for the spring, summer, and fall program. The Therapeutic Riding Instructor is responsible for instructing equine assisted sessions and un-mounted program activities in a safe, professional manner. Candidates must want to be part of a productive team environment that is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children and adults living with special needs. Additional responsibilities include developing rider goals and weekly objectives, documenting weekly progress for each rider, submitting written evaluations on each participant at the end of each semester and participating in staff meetings, program functions and trainings.
Program Specialist - Adaptive Sports Program
(Per diem, daily hours are determined based on needs of the program)
Required: Experience in adaptive recreation & sport(s); demonstrate skill with adaptive equipment for a minimum of three adaptive sports; able to work independently; demonstrate strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills. Preferred: Certification as a CTRS, or Adaptive Physical Education; 3 years of experience in working with individuals with disabilities including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorders, Physical Disability, Visual Impairment. Responsibilities include program development and implementation of identified adaptive sports programs to individuals living with disabilities, ages 6-19 years. During program implementation, provide instruction in adaptive sports and recreation activities, supervise program participants, staff and volunteers, keep attendance and other data as required, provide individual supports, adaptive equipment and activity modification as needed so that individuals may engage in programs as independently as possible. Participate in staff meetings with Adaptive Sports Program Manager and provide written reports as directed.
