Required: Current valid licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of CT; Master's degree in Nursing, or Master's degree in related healthcare field, management, business administration or current matriculation; minimum of 2 years management and clinical supervisory experience in an acute care of long term acute care setting or behavioral health setting; minimum of 3 years of experience in a pediatric autism or like setting; associate or bachelor's in psychology; demonstrated leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills. Valid/current BLS healthcare Provider or equivalent preferred. He/she is responsible for the management of human and fiscal resources for assigned unit of care. This individual is responsible for monitoring and evaluating patient outcomes through the organizational quality improvement plan and as a member of the leadership team works collaboratively to effectively action plan. The Clinical Manager is cognizant of and adheres to standards established by regulatory and accrediting agencies. This individual supports and establishes strategies to meet the HSC/CSC strategic plan and organizational goals.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or Health Care Administration; Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA (#2 & #3). Based on successful completion of examination requirements of the American Health Information Management Association; 5 years management experience in Medical Records; extensive knowledge of State, Federal and regulatory agency requirements for security, privacy and confidentiality of health information management (HIM) and information technology processes relevant to HIM functions; proficient in QI tools and techniques relevant to HIM functions; extensive knowledge of HIM policy as it relates to the hospital industry; working knowledge of computerized environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Director of HIM is responsible for successfully managing the daily operations of the HIM Department as well as the archival, storage and retention of all medical records. This individual is responsible for setting standards for the quality of documentation in medical records and for the accuracy and integrity of HIM's departmental/operational records; enforcing medical record completion requirements; release of patient information; privacy and confidentiality of patient records in accordance with state, federal, accreditation and regulatory requirements; DRG analysis and monitoring and records management, including setting guidelines for the development, distribution, record-keeping requirements, retention and archival of corporate policies and procedures, and responsibility for maintaining official records on behalf of the organization. He/she provides support and education to each Business Unit, Clinical Resource Group and Corporate Resource Department and all other appropriate corporate entities concerning records management, policy and procedure development and distribution and privacy of health information. The Director of HIM is responsible for health information privacy, confidentiality and integrity of information including all forms of data, i.e. oral, written and electronic. This individual manages and supervises the use of privacy measures to protect data and protected health information (PHI), and conduct of personnel in relation to the privacy of data and PHI. He/she is responsible for oversight and implementation of the HIM Department Scope of Services, the Health Information Security and Privacy Program (in collaboration with the CSC Health Information Security Officer), and related policies, procedures and departmental processes. Provides auditing functions and direction to HIM Department Staff concerning compliance with regulatory standards.
