The Health Sciences Library is located on the first floor just off the main lobby at Hospital for Special Care. It is open to staff, patients and their families, as well as to students in affiliated programs. The librarian provides research assistance and conducts online database searches upon request. Resources for health professionals and consumers [1] are available in the Health Sciences Library and Resource Center.

Catalogue [2], general Internet Access (including links to quality Web sites), and health information databases. WiFi access is also available.
A comfortable lounge with a flat screen television with DVD and VCR that is available for patients and families to use to watch educational or leisure videos.
There is also a Nintendo Wii™ that is available by reservation only.

Literature searches will be run by the librarian upon request.
Books may only be borrowed by staff members. Books circulate for four weeks. The borrower is responsible for the replacement costs of damaged or lost materials.
Reference books and journals do not leave the library. Photocopies may be made at no charge.
Materials not owned by the HSC library will be obtained for users from cooperating institutions. A fee may be charged.

The Health Sciences Library participates in the cooperative lending programs sponsored by the National Library of Medicine. Member libraries may access our resources via interlibrary loan and/or in person.
