NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (Nov. 8, 2011) – Hospital for Special Care (HSC) announced today that it has appointed Joseph G. Laffin, CCP, Managing Principal, Human Resources Consulting, as Chairman of Human Resources Committee, Center of Special Care, Inc. Laffin was officially appointed to this post at the Hospital's 14th Annual Meeting of Corporators and Donor Appreciation Reception.

As chair of the Human Resources Committee of Center, Laffin oversees the committee's responsibilities to set compensation policy, approves the structure of organizational benefit plans and ensures that the Center's operating companies have the human resources necessary to carry out their missions.
As Managing Principal of Human Resources Consulting located in Hartford, Laffin specializes in providing management consulting in the areas of base salary administration, job evaluation systems, financial incentive plan design, executive long-term incentive plans and employee benefit design. The firm's objective is to assist clients in the development of a total compensation program and its incorporation into the organization's business plan. Laffin's clients have included American Savings Bank (TD Bank), The Bushnell, Hartford Hospital and Travelers.
