HSC offers the Nintendo Wii® gaming system as an effective treatment option for its outpatients. The Wii® allows patients to perform balance, range of motion, and coordination exercises in a fun and enjoyable setting. The therapists choose games that can address patients' specific needs. Patients who have the Wii ® at home can continue with the therapy regimen after discharge and track their progress using the scoring system. The Wii® alone is not enough for therapy, but in conjunction with a comprehensive treatment plan, the Wii® allows for a little fun while regaining lost function.
