Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)

Rehabilitation programs at HSC have been accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities since 1991. Currently our Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation program is CARF accredited.

NCQA

National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)

The Autism Outpatient Center at Hospital for Special Care has been named the nation’s first Patient-Centered Specialty Practice (PCSP) for Autism Spectrum Disorder. PCSP designation is determined by the National Committee for Quality Assurance, the most widely adopted medical home model in the country. NCQA recognized the Autism Center at HSC for its responsiveness to patients and medical colleagues, its cooperation and integration with other health care groups, and its dedication to continuous improvement.

AARC

American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC)

HSC’s Pulmonary Care Services are recognized by the American Association for Respiratory Care as a Quality Respiratory Care Provider under their Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) program for Long Term Acute Care Hospitals (LTACH).

MDA

Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)

HSC’s Neuromuscular Clinic is recognized by the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

ALS

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association Certified Treatment Center of Excellence (ALSA)

HSC’s Neuromuscular Clinic is recognized by the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association.

AANEM Electrodiagnostic (EDX) Laboratory Accreditation

The Department of Neuromuscular Medicine Electromygraphy (EMG) Laboratory is accredited with the AANEM Electrodiagnostic (EDX) Laboratory Accreditation.
